Spike Jones and His City Slickers

The City Slickers started out in 1941 as an "after hours" project by Jones while he was a much in-demand side man for various bands in Hollywood. Their 1942 single "Der Fuehrer's Face" was a giant hit and sparked a 20-year comedy career.

Ghost Riders in the Sky

Jones clearly disliked this song intensely. Apparently Vaughn Monroe reciprocated regarding this parody.
