The Theatre Guild of Webster Groves kicks off the 2002-2003 season with the '50's musical Grease, opening Thursday and running through July 28. Act Inc. continues their 22nd season of summer repertory theatre with the St. Louis premiere of Joe DiPietro's comedy Over the River and Through the Woods. Volunteer adult actors, both able-bodied and disabled, are wanted as ensemble members and alternates for The DisAbility Project. The DisAbility Project provides professional and non-professional actors the opportunity to act and create performance pieces. You "must be a team player, able to memorize lines, speak audibly, have reliable ransportation and be available most Saturday mornings for the workshop and occasional evenings during the week for rehearsal and/or presentations". The Project rehearses most Saturday mornings from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Washington University School of Medicine Program in Occupational Therapy building at 4444 Forest Park Parkway, in the Central West End, just west of Newstead. DramaRama Theatre Company announces a Summer Theatre Camp for children ages 6-12, to be held at the Affton White Rodgers Community Center the week of July 29-August 2. New Line Theatre holds auditions at 7 PM on Monday, [July 15; also July 22] for the musical The Rocky Horror Show. Roles are available for 9-13 men and women age 17 and older who are strong singers and actors and who are willing to take risks onstage. Auditioners should prepare a theatre song in pop or rock style, and may be asked to read from the script or sing from the score. The St. Louis Black Repertory Company offers a Summer Theatre Camp for children ages 7-17. Participants will receive training in theatre, dance, voice, writing, and hip-hop, and will perform in a special production at the end of the season. Spotlight Theatre holds auditions from 7-10 PM on Monday and Tuesday, July 22 and 23, for their second season. Auditioners should prepare one contemporary monologue and be prepared for cold readings. Musical auditions will be on Monday, July 23 from 7-9 PM, and auditioners should bring thirty-two bars of a musical theatre song.
