Witter, Jim Dale, Company With a lively score by Cy Coleman and Michael Stewart, Barnum is a lively celebration of the life and times of America's greatest showman, Phineas T. Barnum (Jim Dale). In this Act II show-stopper, Barnum is at another cross-roads in his life. James C. Bailey (William C. Witter) happens by with his circus troupe and convinces Barnum to join him in putting on "the greatest show on earth".
Museum Song Barnum (OC 1980) Jim Dale In this Gilbert and Sullivan-style patter song, Barnum rattles off the many attractions of his museum.
Come Follow the Band Barnum (OC 1980) Jim Dale, Company As Barnum arrives in Washington, D.C. to publicize the first American appearance of "the Swedish nightengale" Jenny Lind, he's met by the Potomac Marching Band, which enters through the theater in the opening number for Act II.
Da Capo Da Capo: Music from Circus Flora (2003) Circus Flora Instrumental Ensemble Circus Flora is a classic one-ring European circus based in St. Louis. This CD collects four numbers from their most recent show Da Capo as well as "Passport for Flora", composed as a farewell piece for the elephant Flora (after whom the circus was named), who retired to Africa in 2002.
Overture Journey of Man (OS 2000) Cirque du Soleil Ensemble These cuts are from the soundtrack of the Cirque Du Soleil Imax film Journey of Man, which the group produced in conjunction with Oxfam International. The Taiko drummers featrued in the second cut were part of the program here in St. Louis and make a substantial sonic impression.
