The Humane Society of the United States - learn about the latest issues in animal welfare at this interactive source for the protection of all animals.
The Inquirer - no, not THAT Inquirer. This one is source for technology news without the hype or hidden agendas.
Media Matters is an on-line newsletter designed to "document and correct conservative misinformation in each news cycle". You'd probably be surprised to discover how much of that there is.
